Member, Meeting Professionals International

Currently all members of the confersense planners' team are members of the Ottawa Chapter of Meeting Professionals International. Schouwerwou has been an active member of MPI's Ottawa Chapter since March 1994, and is currently the President of the Ottawa Chapter. His term as Chapter President will end in July 2003, at which time he will serve for a year as the Chapter's Past President. He has also been elected to MPI's International Chapter Leadersip Committee, and will commence his term on that body in July 2003. He has also served as Director of Membership from 1999 - 2001, Chair of the Chapter's 1999 Retreat Planning Subcommittee, and Vice-Chair of its Program and Education Committee.

In 1998, Schouwerwou received MPI Ottawa's Outstanding Chapter Member Award, and was nominated for the international association's coveted International Tomorrow's Leader of MPI Award. He was named MPI Ottawa's Planner of the Year in 1997, and was the first recipient of the MPI Canadian Council's Professional Development Scholarship in 1996. In 1998 was also awarded Outstanding chapter Member of the Year, and was awarded the Mentor of the Year in 2005.

Chuck has been a member of the Professional Conference Management Association since December 2010 and actively volunteers on the Eastern Canadian Chapter's Program and Education Committee.
